SHREVEPORT- The Centenary men's basketball team shared guests of honor status with Santa himself at the Sutton Children's Hospital Kids Council meeting earlier this week.

The Gents were on hand to celebrate the Holidays with the Kids Council members and also paid a visit to over 20 children, who unfortunately must spend at least part of their holidays in the hospital.

Gents Head Coach, Greg Gary, felt honored to have been asked to appear and hopes to make it an annual event.

"We are so lucky to have our good health and this is the perfect time of the year for our players to get in the community and share their happiness and team spirit with others who may need a little lift during the holiday season."

Freshman, Matt Marseille, seconded his coach's feelings about the event, stating the time spent with the kids "brought a great feeling to [his] heart."

Gary wishes to thank Christus Schumpert Health Systems Foundation for being a proud sponsor of Centenary Basketball and for co-sponsoring the "Get Fit" Challenge.

"The Get Fit Challenge is going really well, with so many people registering and enjoying monitoring their health and fitness levels throughout our basketball season."

"We are very grateful to have Schumpert's support and we are always proud to come to their events, like this one with the Kids Council. It's a win-win partnership and one which benefits the Shreveport community as a whole."
