COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Junior Ricky Imperiali knocked in two on a single to leftfield in the fifth inning, but it wasn’t enough for the Centenary baseball team, as it fell to Texas A&M on Wednesday afternoon, 3-2.

Sophomore Dakota Robinson was lights out early on, as he took a no-hitter into the fifth. However, the Aggies didn’t allow the no-no to go any further, as Brodie Greene singled to center. Robinson didn’t allow the single get into his head, as he got TAMU to ground into a double play and pop out to end the fifth.

In the sixth, the tide started to change as Robinson walked the first batter and gave up two straight singles to load the bases. The Aggies scored only one of their three runs on a single, as one them was scored on a balk and the other was knocked in on a double play.

Centenary threatened in the seventh, as junior Steele Lewis got things started on an infield single. Classmate Tim Deering later sacrificed Lewis to third, but Imperiali couldn’t find his magical touch again, as his squeeze play bunt was hit too hard to first base, resulting in an out at the plate.

The Gents scoring opportunity in the seventh was their last, as they could not get another runner aboard.

The next action for Centenary will be on Tuesday evening when Louisiana-Monroe comes to Shreveport for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
