CENTENARY SPORTS MEDICINE

The Centenary athletic training staff maintains the training room housed on the lower level of the Gold Dome. The athletic training staff provides the best possible care to our Centenary student-athletes.

Facilities
The athletic training room, located in the Gold Dome, is equipped with a whirl pool, multiple training tables, exercise equipment, an ultra sound machine, e-stim machines.

The facility is staffed by a full-time licensed and certified athletic trainer during normal operating hours at all times.

M-F 12:30- 30 minutes after last practice

Gameday hours
2 hours prior to game time
30 minutes after the conclusion

Practice hours
1 hour prior to practice
30 minutes after the conclusion

TEAM PHYSICIANS

Dr. Shane Barton, MD
Dr. Shane Barton attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and he went on to the Harvard Medical School-Massachusetts General Hospital where he finished his fellowship training in Shoulder and Sports Medicine in 2005. During his fellowship Dr. Barton served as assistant team physician for the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Harvard University, and Curry College. Dr. Barton is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is director of Sports Medicine for Willis-Knighton Health System.

Dr. Victor Ursua, MD
Dr. Victor Ursua attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and went on to Louisiana State University Health Science Center Shreveport to complete his Orthopaedic fellowship. Dr Ursua is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Michelle Self, MD
Dr. Self attended medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine. Dr. Self is Board Certified Family Practitioner and has been in practice for 15 years.

Emergencies
In case of emergency at Centenary, patients will be transported to either Willis-Knighton Pierremont Health or Willis-Knighton Medical Center. All patients will be transported by ambulance to emergency care facilities.
