Student-Athletes named to SCAC Spring Honor Roll
LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2013 Spring Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll with 47 student-athletes from Centenary College receiving conference accolades.
Centenary totaled 85 student-athletes receiving SCAC Academic Honor Roll accolades, including 38 in the fall listing.
Baseball, men’s swimming, women’s swimming and women’s tennis led the way with seven members each. Lacrosse placed five on the list with women’s golf adding four. Men’s basketball tallied three of the list with women’s basketball, softball and men’s tennis each supplying a pair of recipients. Men’s golf rounded out the group with one honoree.
"Our student-athletes are our most valuable asset and they continue to produce not only in the athletic arena, but the classroom as well," said Director of Athletics and Wellness Ronda Seagraves. "Our staff and athletes are committed to performance in the classroom and they have not disappointed. Way to go Ladies and Gents."
A total of 462 student-athletes made the spring list bringing the total number of male and female student-athletes to 21,000-plus.
To qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
