SHREVEPORT, La. – The Gents scored in each of the first five innings of the game and overcame a two-run deficit in the third as #11 Centenary (17-3, 4-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) bested Schreiner (8-13, 0-1 SCAC) 10-6 Friday night, March 17.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Gents baseball team continued its weekly success in the Southern Collegiate Baseball Players of the Week selections as juniors Kaleb Kirk and Chris Zapata were named Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively. Centenary also moved up to #16 in the latest NCAA Division III Poll released by Perfect Game.

SHREVEPORT, La. – Despite the steady rain falling all day, the Gents offense failed to cool off as they scored 31 runs as Centenary (13-3) took game one 19-2 and beat Northland College (0-2) 12-2 in a pair of run-ruled, seven-inning games Sunday, March 5. Through six home games thus far and 35 offensive innings, Centenary has scored 111 runs (3.2 runs per inning).

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Gents baseball team put the finishing touches on a great start in the home-opening weekend by scoring 27 runs on 23 hits as Centenary (11-3) swept a doubleheader from Rust (0-12) 15-2 and 12-0 Friday afternoon, February 24.

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Gents were able to tie the game with a run in the top of the third, but Centenary (7-3) left six men stranded and managed a season-low five hits in a 4-1 loss at UT Tyler (5-1) Sunday afternoon, February 19.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – It was getaway day in California for Gents baseball, and what a day it was. The Gents capitalized on 16 hits and six walks to score 11 runs, while they only gave up a solo home run to the Tigers as #24 Centenary (3-1) blasted #21 Occidental (0-1) 11-1 Sunday afternoon, February 5.

REDLANDS, Calif. – After the Gents lost game one and clawed their way to 3-2 lead in the nightcap of a doubleheader, senior and Shreveport-native Michael Schimpf blasted a three-run home run to help expand the advantage en route to hitting for the cycle. Schimpf later added an RBI triple in the game as Centenary (2-1) achieved a doubleheader split with Redlands (1-1) with a 9-4 win in the second game of a doubleheader in Redlands, California. The Bulldogs took game one on Saturday, February 4, 9-2.

LA VERNE, Calif. – It was good news in the morning when Gents baseball found out they would start the 2017 season #24 according to Perfect Game. In the night, while the Maroon and White saw a 6-0 lead vanish in the sixth to the Leopards, a single tally on two costly errors helped Centenary (1-0) knock off La Verne (0-1) 7-6 Friday night, February 3.
