2017 Sophomore Season – Played in 43 games with 42 starts... Named First Team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference as a second baseman and to the Conference All-Tournament team... Finished fifth on the team with a 347 batting average and sixth with 52 hits... Also scored 38 runs, drove in 22, and finished second on the team with 106 assists... Hit his only home run of the year to lead off the second in the Gents 13-3 win in game one of a double header at East Texas Baptist February 11, a Gents 13-3 win... Went 2-for-3 with a season high three RBI’s and two runs scored in the Gents 19-2 win against Northland March 5... Finished second among starting infielders with a .973 fielding percentage.

Prior to Centenary: Played his freshman year at NCAA Division II Newman... Went 22-for-69 (.319 batting average) with 20 runs scored, 12 RBI’s, three doubles, and a triple... Played the middle infield position for Garrison HS...  Named All-State as a Second Baseman for the Bulldogs... Named to the THSBCA All-Star Game and was named a District MVP his senior year... Also played quarterback on the Garrison HS football team.

Personal: Born June 12 in Wichita, Kansas... Son of Allen and Jennifer Russell... Has four siblings: sisters Aspen Holeman and Cheyenne Russell and brothers Zach Russell and Travis Holeman... Majoring in communications at Centenary.
