Fayetteville, Ark. – The Centenary Ladies’ gymnastics team finished Friday evening’s contest in fourth place (190.525) against University of Arkansas, Missouri (194.300), and Lindenwood (191.125). Arkansas (196.50), hosting the meet and its senior night, took the victory overall.

The Ladies opened completion with their first rotation on beam. Two freshmen Ladies led the team as Stephanie Strickler (9.700) and Kellie Slater (9.650) notched career-highs each. Known for mainly specializing on bars and floor, Strickler has competed the last three meets on beam.

Meg Crowley (9.625) was the highest score for the Maroon and White on floor, followed by Christy Martinez (9.575).

The third rotation saw the highest event score of the night on vault, led by Robyn Price (9.725) matching a season best for the second meet in a row. Martinez (9.700) also improved from last week’s personal best to extend her career-high. Crowley (9.650) also notched a season-high to complete the trio of high scores.

Jessica Lieblich and Martinez (9.750) paced Centenary on bars receiving the highest individually placed results on the night in a three-way tie for eighth. The scores were a season best for both gymnasts, while Martinez added her fifth personal best in less than a week for the Austin, Texas native.

Price (38.225), this week’s MIC Gymnast of the Week, took fourth in the all-around, while Lieblich (37.875) finished fifth.

Centenary has one final meet before hosting the Midwest Independent Conference Championships later this month. Competition will be a quad meet on Saturday, Mar. 9 at Minnesota (with Arkansas, Nebraska), and is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
