SHREVEPORT, LA - 2015 Centenary College graduate Sylvia Keiter has been named a gymnastics graduate assistant coach, announced head coach Jackie Fain.

“As a graduate of our program, Sylvia brings a tremendous amount of knowledge of how we do things and what the expectations are for our team,” said Fain. “She has shown the ability to coach as part of her everyday training during the past four years, as she was always willing to help her teammates. In her new role, Sylvia will be able to work with others on skills by relating to the team with the problems she faced as a competitor and how she overcame certain situations.”

In her final season in 2015, Keiter posted career-high scores of 9.325 on vault, 9.725 on bars, 9.8 on beam, and 9.825 on floor. In 2014, she totaled a career-best of 38.275 in the all-around in only her second career collegiate meet where she performed on all four events.

Keiter’s career culminated with an appearance on bars, beam, and floor at the 2015 USA Gymnastics National Championships in April. In 2014, Keiter qualified on floor for the National Championships.

“With the addition of Sylvia, I am thrilled to announce the completion of our staff, and I believe this is going to help us reach our goals this season,” explained Fain. “We announced the addition of Morgan Leachman earlier this summer, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish with a full staff on board for the first time since my arrival at Centenary.”
