Hi Centenary Gymnastics fans!

This is freshman Navia Jordan here with this week’s gym talk! This past week has been great, as we have just come back from our first meet of the season. We are back in the gym working insanely hard to progress before our next few meets this weekend here at Centenary and at TWU!

The Centenary Ladies have been working diligently to achieve our goals for our next competition, and continue to build so we can meet our dream of going to nationals as a team. To do this, Coach Jackie has been stressing we focus on every little detail in our routines, from the execution of our skills all the way down to the performance of our dance. She always reminds us it’s the small details that make the biggest differences, and to take everything one step at a time. Because of this the Ladies have gotten more depth on our events and are determined to do great at our next meets!

Shout out to freshmen Mackenzie Packer and Tavia Smith for performing some great bar sets this week at practice. Mack’s bars have been so solid this past week, keep killing it! Tavia has been showing out with those beautiful double lay dismounts! The hard work has been paying off so keep it up! Also, shout out to all the Beam Queens this week as they have been looking so strong and consistent on their routines! It’s great to see such beautiful routines every day in practice; always so clean and precise! Finally, shout out to senior Stephanie Strickler and freshman Aspen Hattley for having such amazing floor sets this week; can’t wait to see your energetic routines on the competition floor!

This weekend, the Centenary Ladies will be competing Friday, January 22nd, here in the Gold Dome against Southeast Missouri and Sunday, January 24th, at Texas Women’s University in Denton Texas against Southeast Missouri, Texas Women’s, and Air Force. We would love for you to come out and support the team!

Thanks for tuning in to this week’s gym talk! It’s fantastic being a part of such a close team and working so hard as a team to reach our goals. It’s going to be a great season!

Much Love,

Navi J.
