Hey Centenary Gym fans!

This is sophomore Liz Sander bringing you this week’s Gym talk! Your favorite ladies just returned from a quick trip down the road to Denton, Texas, where we competed in a tri-meet against Texas Woman's University and BYU.

While we can definitely still see areas for improvement, it was a good meet for the Ladies, and we recorded a team score of 191.3 – our second highest team score this season. Our vault score of 47.9 is our highest of the season!

We have so many shout outs from the weekend: to junior Ashley White for having a season high in the all-around of 39.000, and to Cami Bea Austin for a career high 9.650 on vault. Sophomore Tavia Smith caught her Shaposhnikova in a competition bar routine for the first time this weekend, as well as stuck her vault for a career high 9.625, and hit her beam routine for a career high 9.650, all helping her achieve a career high 37.975 in the all-around. Go T!! Senior Allison Scates competed in the all-around for the first time since her surgery last January, and she killed it!

After an exciting meet, your Ladies returned to Shreveport and are enjoyed a day of rest before we got back in the gym on Monday. Then it was three days of practice and keeping up with class work before we headed off to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to compete against Southeast Missouri State Friday.

Thanks for following along with us and go Ladies!
