Junior Navia Jordan Provides the Next Addition of Gym Talk!
Monday, October 30, 2017

Hey there Centenary Gym fans,

This is junior Navi J. here to bring you this week’s Gym Talk! This has been an exciting week for the Ladies! Now that the stress of midterms is just about over, the Ladies have been getting in the gym and focusing on being precise in our gymnastics and working super hard on doing every skill with an intention to be great. Clearly, we have hit the ground running after our intrasquad last Sunday! Also, this weekend was homecoming weekend and a lot of the team got to spend time with their families, loved ones, and returning alumni. Homecoming weekend is one of my favorite activities Centenary has to offer, it’s a weekend full of fun festivities such as: the gumbo cook-off, athletic events, tailgates, brinner, and this year’s laser tag. I can hardly wait till next year’s!

This past week, the Ladies started off on Monday with a couple of intense conditioning workouts to really work on our strength and cardio in preparation for meet season! What a great way to kick off such an amazing week! Then the Ladies kept moving strong into the week with some great gymnastics, here are some highlights: Shout out to juniors Mackenzie Packer for doing her new dismount off beam and Aspen Hattley for doing her BEAUTIFUL new series up on the high beam, keep it up beam queens! Also, shout out sophomore Delia Ardoin and senior Ashley White for coming off injuries and quickly getting back into the swing of things! You both look amazing and I can’t wait to see you all killing it this season! Finally, shout out to freshman Sierra Ponder for doing some sky-high handspring fronts on vault this weekend! So aerodynamic! In addition to all these amazing highlights, the team had a couple of hype practices this weekend and everyone is looking crazy strong in and out of the gym. I can’t wait to see what this season has in store for us!

As always, stay tuned for more!

Lots of love,

Navi J.
