Preview: Gents Open Season at ASC Favorite, UT-Dallas
The Gents will use a month's preparation to face off with the Comets on the road, which may be the biggest test for second year head coach Adam Walsh's team. Centenary rosters just three letterwinners from a year ago in seniors Maxx Nakwaasah, Matt Nichenko and sophomore Jonathan Blount. Centenary welcomes 14 newcomers, including 12 freshmen and two sophomore transfers. A bright moment in the Gents' young lineup comes from Nakwaasah, who returns after leading Centenary offensively last season. The Dallas, Texas native returns home to begin his quest at the 1,000 point club as well as the 500 rebound club during his four year career. Walsh in his first season at the helm of the program finished 1-29 with a 73-60 win over Western Illinois in the second to last game of the 2010-11 year.
