SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary Gents dropped its second straight contest falling 76-61 to Colorado College on Friday evening in the Gold Dome. The stumble moves the Maroon and White to 7-9 on the season and 3-5 in the SCAC.

Jonathan Blount posted a team-best 26 points, marking his 14th career game with 20-plus points. Caden Cheramie added 13 points – the 10th of his career - while JaColby Hardin-Crawford supplied 10 points in the setback – his career ninth. Cheramie paced the Gents on the glass with seven rebounds.

The Tigers were led by 36 points from Ryan Milne.

“Our gameplan was to make someone else beat us tonight other than Lesnansky,” said Gents head coach Adam Walsh. “We did shut him down, but Milne proved why he is a preseason all-conference.”

CC, which led by eight points at the intermission, opened the second half with a 19-5 run to extend its lead to 18 points – the largest of the game. The Tigers drained 4 of their 11 3-pointers during the run, including two by Milne.

The Gents answered with a 19-4 run to trim the lead to seven points at the 4:41 mark. Blount supplied 9 of the points during the spurt.

Milne answered with back-to-back treys to quickly push the lead back to 13 points following the Centenary run.

The Maroon and White again answered nipping the lead to under double-digits, but couldn’t pull within eight points the remainder of the way.

Tyler Jonas rounded out the double figure scorers for the Tigers with 10 points. Lesnansky fell a point and rebound shy of a double-double with 9 points and 9 rebounds in the win.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 19 as the Ladies host Dallas. Tip is slated for 8 p.m.
