SHREVEPORT, La. – The Gents tied a school record with 20 triples and gave head coach Adam Walsh his biggest win as Centenary (1-2) knocked off Millsaps (1-2) 88-55 Saturday night, November 21, at the Gold Dome.

It was the biggest win for the Gents since the 2008-09 season.

Centenary hit 20-of-37 (54.1 percent) of its shots from three-point range, including 13 treys in 16 made field goals in the first half. Three different players hit five triples, including junior Brandon Campbell coming off the bench to hit 5-of-7 from downtown with 19 points.

Senior Justin Cueto, who scored a career-best 19 points, started the game with a triple and layup. After Millsaps triple, sophomore Travion Kirkendoll, freshman Treylan Matthews and Cueto all made triples to push the Centenary lead to 14-3 lead with 15:25 left in the first half. Kirkendoll then hit another three, and a jumper after two shots by the Majors as Kirkendoll scored eight early points. Centenary led 19-9.

Kirkendoll led the Gents with 26 points on 10-for-14 shooting. It was his 13th-straight double-digit scoring game and his third 20+ scoring game to begin the season. Kirkendoll now leads the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in scoring this season.

Millsaps’ Brennan Gagen answered with his only three, but Matthews hit a triple and Campbell hit a pair on consecutive possessions, including the final on a fastbreak, as Centenary doubled up the majors 28-14.

Cueto capped the half with a three-pointer as Centenary took a 49-27 lead into the lockeroom.

The Gents hit their final three-pointers of the game to tie the school record with 20 triples. Kirkendoll hit a pair and junior Kendall Demouchet, who finished the game with 10 points, hit a three to end the game.

Six different Gents finished the game with a three.
