SHREVEPORT, La. – Another day, another academic award for a Centenary athletic team.

Announced on Wednesday, July 27, the Gent golf team received All-Academic Team distinction from the Golf Coaches Association of America for the 2015-16 academic year.

To receive recognition from the GCAA, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the year. Centenary finished with a team GPA of 3.19.

“I am proud of our Gent golfers for their hard work in the classroom. We are one of the only two golf programs in Louisiana to receive this award, so this is quite the honor,” said head coach Emlyn Aubrey.  “Better yet, I believe our incoming class will help us improve our already solid classroom performance!”

Centenary joined ULM as the representatives from the Pelican State. The Gents, Schreiner, and Southwestern were the honorees from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
