ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Centenary Gents golf team finished third at the Louisiana College Fall Invite at the par-72 Alexandria Country Club Sept. 19-20, with a two-day total of 637 (+61).

Host Louisiana College won the tournament with a total of 614 (+38). Dallas bested Centenary by nine strokes on the final day to finish second with a total of 629 (+53).

"We improved one stroke today, but unfortunately, Louisiana College and Dallas stepped it up and ran away from us," said head coach Emlyn Aubrey. "Not a terrible start to the season, but we definitely need to clean up some small details in our games to keep improving and stay competitive in our region. We absolutely have the talent and I'm excited about our possibilities."

Three different Gents finished in the top-10, with the trio finishing tied for eighth with a 158 (+14). Freshman Reed Balcerowicz carded the low round of the day for Centenary, shooting a 78 (+6). Classmate Brodey Warner shot an 80 (+8) to tie Balcerowicz. Sophomore Edvard Granrud, the leading Gent after day one, fired an 81 (+9) to round out the trio that finished tied for eighth.

Sophomore Hery Llorence shot the second-lowest round of the day for Centenary at 79 (+7) to finish with a total of 166 (+22) for the tournament. Junior Graham Maxwell shot an 84 (+12) for the second day in a row to finish with a score of 168 (+24).

The Gents and Ladies golf teams return to action next week at the Al Jones Memorial at the Cascades Golf Club in Tyler, Texas.
