Pair of Ladies in Top-12, Gents Sit 12th at YellowJacket Invite

LONGVIEW, Texas – While the Ladies do not have a full team playing, both participants rank in the top-12 of the tournament, while the Gents rank 12th of 13 teams after day one of the LeTourneau YellowJacket Invitational at the Pinehurst Country Club in Longview, Texas.

Murray State leads the field with a total of 282 (-2), 43 strokes ahead of the Gents (+41). Centenary leads in-state rival Louisiana College by 63 strokes.

On the Ladies side, sophomore Jessica Varner sits in a tie for fourth after day one, firing a 38 on the front and back for a total of 76 (+4). Varner tied for the third-most birdies on the first day with two and led the field in par-4 hole scoring at +1. Sophomore m Taylor Adair sits 12th with a round of 81 (+9).

On the men’s side, playing on a par-72 course, sophomore Edvard Granrud recovered from a 43 on the front to shoot 36 on the back for a total of 79 (+8), good enough for 39th. Freshman Gabe Rodriguez is 50th with a round of 81 (+10).

Freshmen Reed Balcercowicz and Brodey Warner, along with junior Graham Maxwell, are 53rd, 55th, and 61st with rounds of 82 (+11), 83 (+12) and 85 (+13), respectively.
