SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary lacrosse team gathered its first win in program history with 15-12 win over Defiance College (Ohio).  The win moves the Gents to 1-4 on the season while DC falls to 0-2.

After trailing 7-3 at the half, Centenary used an 8-4, third quarter to stand tied 11-all heading into the final 15 minutes. The Maroon and White outscored the Yellow Jackets 4-1 in the final stanza to gather the win.

Garret Wick led the Gents with six goals while Dylan Sherman recorded four scores in the contest. Alex Vandruff added three goals with Spencer Nelson and James Cox each recorded a score.  

Vandruff also tallied two assists to lead to the squad while Wick, Nelson, Cox and Max Beilke each recorded an assist.

Coulton Toups (1-4) recorded his first career win in the pipes. Toups tallied four saves in the effort with the full 60 minutes in net.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, March 15 against Lasell College. Match is slated for 12 p.m. in Georgetown, Texas.
