BOSSIER CITY, La. – The Centenary lacrosse team was edged 10-8 by the University of Dallas at Freedom Fields on Saturday afternoon. The decision moves the Gents 1-6 on the season while UD improved 4-5.

The Maroon and White led 3-2 at the intermission, but the two squads were knotted at 5-all after three quarters. The Crusaders outscored the Centenary 5-3 in the final 15 minutes behind three scores in the first five minutes.

The Blue and White added two goals in final eight minutes to provide the distance, despite the Gents posting three goals late.

Alex Vandruff paced Centenary with three goals in the contest. Garret Wick supplied two scores to finish second on the squad. Dylan Sherman, Max Beilke and Spencer Nelson, who led the team with two assists, each recorded a goal.

Coulton Toups (1-6) took the loss in goal. Toups logged all 60 minutes with seven saves.

Cody Wooten, Alex Ziolkowski and Matthew Cyr guided the majority of the scoring effort for Dallas with three goals each. Zachary Wellwerts added the remaining score.

Ryan Murphy received the win in between the pipes with 14 saves in 60 minutes of action.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, March 29 as they travel to Montgomery, Ala., to face Huntingdon College. Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
