JACKSON, Miss. – The Centenary lacrosse team dropped a 23-6 decision on Sunday afternoon at Millsaps College despite posting the third most goals on the season. The loss moves the Gents to 1-8 on the season while MC improved to 3-11.

Garret Wick and Alex Vandruff lead the Maroon and White with two goals each while Dylan Sherman and Spencer Nelson each tallied a score in the cause.

The Gents, who attempted 27 shots on the day with 17 coming on goal, fell behind early as they trailed 7-1 after the first quarter. After a tightly contested second quarter, the Majors held a 10-2 advantage at the intermission. The Purple and White outscored Centenary 13-4 in the second half to capture the victory.

Sherman, Wick and Coulton Toups combined for the efforts in net. Wick totaled the most minutes in goal with 43-plus. Wick recorded a season-high 14 saves despite 19 goals allowed. The trio registered a season-best 17 saves in the contest.

Scott Budd paced Millsaps with seven goals on the day. Budd attempted a team-best 14 shots as the Majors posted 56 total shots with 40 coming on target.

Riley McLean logged the win in goal with 37 minutes in between the pipes with six saves against two goals allowed.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, April 18 at Southwestern. Match time is slated for Noon.
