Lacrosse opens 2015 season against Hendrix

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary men’s lacrosse teams opens the 2015 season on Wednesday, Feb. 4 against Hendrix College. Match time is slated for 4 p.m. The match marks the first of four home outings this season.

The squad features a mixture of returning players from the 2014 season along with new faces. Second-year head coach Monty Curtis returns nine players from a season ago including junior, team captain Max Beilke. The squad also features Garret Wick and Alex Vandruff who return as the leading goal scorers from the 2014 season.

Among the new faces making their debut for the Maroon and White is Shreveport, La., native Dylan Sherman, who played at Captain Shreve High School. Sherman tied Wick for the team lead in goals with three in the exhibition against the University of Louisiana-Monroe club team.

Vandruff added two goals in the exhibition while Wick, Matt Ferrell and Justin Conover each provided a score.

Following the contest with Hendrix, the Gents travel to Birmingham Southern on Saturday, Feb. 7.
