SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary men’s soccer team opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Wednesday, Sept. 11 as the Gents host Austin College. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Maroon and White look to snap a two-game skid to open the season with the Roos coming to town.

Daryn Beaugh has posted the only goal of the season for the Gents coming in a 2-1 defeat to East Texas Baptist to open the campaign. The score stands as the only shot taken by the sophomore this season as he sits in a seven-way tie for third on the team in shots. Cullen Gallet and Chris Berrios each lead the team with two shots each.

Austin Andrews has logged a majority of the time in net for Centenary. The freshman has totaled 135 minutes allowing four goals and collecting nine saves in the two setbacks. Rylan Whan has garnered 45 minutes in goal for the Gents allowing two goals paired with six saves.

AC enters the conference tilt looking for its first win of the season. The Roos stand 0-2-1 on the year following a scoreless deadlock at Texas-Tyler in their last outing. Andrew Parides and Taylor Greenwalt have combined for the Roos two goals this season. Andrew Celio has logged 284 minutes in net allowing five goals and recording eight saves.

Following the SCAC lid lifter, Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 14 with a 2 p.m. contest against Hendrix College.
