IRVING, Texas – The Gents managed the first shot on goal of the game, but a duo of scores by the Crusaders halfway through the first half and two more in the second saw Centenary (4-7, 1-6 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fall to Dallas (6-5, 3-4 SCAC) 4-0 Sunday afternoon, Oct. 2.

Both teams managed six shots in the first half, but Dallas used a 12-4 advantage in the second half for the four-goal win. Gents senior goalie Rylan Whan (4-7) grabbed eight saves, marking the fifth time in 11 games this season he made eight or more saves.

Sophomore Colin Maloney and freshmen Travis Schantz and Bailey DeRoussel each managed a shot on target for the Maroon and White.

Schantz managed the first shot on goal of the game for either team in 13th minute, but Barton Holdridge opened up the scoring in the 18th minute for Dallas. He found the back of the net nearly four minutes later as the Crusaders led 2-0 at half.

Luke Schwarz pushed the home team’s advantage to three on a penalty kick in the 59th minute while Chima Oguerri closed the scoring in the 82nd minute.

The Gents begin the second half of conference play at home Friday, Oct. 7, against Southwestern. Kickoff is 5 p.m.
