Gents, Ladies swept by Salisbury
SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary tennis teams were swept 9-0 by Salisbury on Thursday morning at the University of Texas at Tyler.
The Gents’ (3-5) team of Michael Reeks and Garrett Whipple posted the best opportunity for the Maroon and White in doubles action before falling 8-3. The squads of Anthony McMaster and Zack Provenza and Jordan Sangalli and Robbie Ramirez each dropped 8-1 outings. McMaster and Whipple stood as the best threat in singles action as Master fell 6-3, 6-1 at the top singles slot and Whipple dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision in the No. 2 singles position.
Katelyn Alexander was the only Ladies’ (6-5) player to take points in both sets in singles action falling 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot. Madelyn Mull fell 6-0, 6-3 at the top singles spot while Lauren Beurlot dropped a 6-0, 6-1 outing in the No. 2 singles spot. The team of Beurlot and Ana Dangelo fell 8-1 in doubles action.
Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Mar. 23 at Austin College.
