David Viviano is tied for 27th
after the first day at StoneBridge

BOSSIER CITY, La. -- Centenary shot 626 over the first two rounds of the 2007 Hal Sutton Intercollegiate to stand in 10th place Monday.

Played locally at the Golf Course at StoneBridge, the Gents shot 315-311 over Monday’s two rounds, led by the shooting of senior David Viviano (Lafayette, La.).

Sitting in a tie for 27th amongst individual players at the Hal Sutton, Viviano started Monday with a 6-over 78 in the first round, only to come back and shoot a 1-over 73 in the second round.

Right behind Viviano and tied for 32nd in the tournament, sophomore John Hogan (Eden Prairie, Minn.) shot 153 Monday, going 76-77 over the two rounds. On the StoneBridge course, which will play host to the 2007 Mid-Continent Conference Championships in late April, Hogan tied his season-low score with the 76 in the first round.

Centenary freshman Tyler Williams (Shreveport, La.) stands 51st with a two-round score of 160 (79-81). Fellow freshman Mark Weeber (Harare, Zimbabwe) shot 82-80 (162) to tie for 53rd in the tournament.

Freshman Nick Faitz (North Little Rock, Ark.) is in 61st place with a score of 169 (84-85) after Monday’s two rounds.

In the team competition, Louisiana-Lafayette stands as the overall leader with a team score of 584 (297-287). Lafayette stood in third place after the first round, moving into first place with a second round team score of 287.

First round team leaders, UMKC, stands in second place with a score of 587 (289-298), three shots behind Lafayette.

Louisiana Tech sits in third place with a score of 588.

Individually, Robert Lindstrom of Birmingham-Southern holds the overall lead with a score of 138. In Monday’s second round, Lindstrom shot the low round of the day, carding a 5-under 67.

The final round of the event is scheduled for a shotgun start Tuesday at 8 a.m.
