Rhodes and McClain Tabbed Second Team All-Louisiana

BATON ROUGEĀ—The Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) announced its 2007 All-Louisiana Softball teams today and Centenary players Micah Rhodes and Allison McClain each received second team honors. The team is voted on by media members of the LSWA from around the state.


Rhodes, a senior outfielder from Grapevine, Texas, is a member of the All-Louisiana team for the second time in her four-year career. She was also a first team All-Mid-Continent Conference selection this year. This season she hit .444 in conference play, the second-highest average in the league. Overall, she hit .326 on the year while leading the Ladies in hits (44), RBI (27), multi-hit (13) and multi-RBI games (8), and enjoyed a team-high nine-game hit streak during the season.


McClain, a sophomore from Diboll, Texas, receives her first All-Louisiana accolade as a utility player after also being an All-Mid-Con selection. She was given the honor after proving very versatile in playing first base, second base, third base, shortstop, and designated player for the Ladies this season. She hit .360 in Mid-Con play with a .515 on-base percentage. She was named Mid-Con Player of the Week on April 2nd and batted .296 on the season in addition to stealing nine bases.
