Gents are 14th at UT-Arlington Fall Classic

ARLINGTON, Texas – After shooting even par in the first round on Monday morning, Centenary men’s golf freshman Greg Berthelot was eight over (72-80, 152) in the afternoon tying him for 60th at the UT-Arlington Fall Classic. Leading the way in Arlington is Colby Shrum of Central Oklahoma, who shot seven under par.


As a team the Gents are in 14th place with a score of 610, six strokes in front of McNeese State. Overall the Gents sit 53 strokes behind the leader, UT-Arlington, who has a 557.


Individually for Centenary, sophomore Mark Weeber was tied for 66th after shooting a +10 (76-78, 184), while fellow sophomore Nick Faitz is also tied for 66th. Another sophomore, Tyler Williams, was just two strokes behind his classmates as he was 12 over on his first day (77-79, 156).


Rounding out the Gents golfers is freshman Ryan Sparks, who was 18 over in the first round, but cut 16 strokes in his afternoon round to be +20 (90-74, 164).


The third and final round will be concluded on Tuesday afternoon.
