Berthelot Leads Gents Golf to a 14th Place Showing

ARLINGTON, Texas – Freshman Greg Berthelot finished in 27th, but was only one of four to shoot under par for the third round on Tuesday at the UT-Arlington Fall Classic. For the tournament, Berthelot was +6 (72-80-70, 222) and 12 strokes behind the winner, Lloyd du Preez of Arkansas State.

 

As a team the Gents shot a 922 for a 14th place finish, but they were just seven strokes behind Missouri State for 13th. However, Centenary was 71 strokes behind the winner UT-Arlington, who was 13 under with a final score of 851.

 

Sophomore Nick Faitz finished in a tie for 73rd (78-76-80, 234), while classmate Mark Weeber tied for 75th (76-78-81, 235). Rounding out the Centenary golfers is sophomore Tyler Williams, who was +27 (77-79-87, 243) and finished tied for 81st, while freshman Ryan Sparks was tied for 83rd after shooting 29 over par (90-74-81, 245).

 

The tournament at UT-Arlington was the last fall event for the Gents, and their next tournament will be Feb. 9-12 at Southern Utah.
