Gents Swimming Starts Season Flawless

SHREVEPORT – Despite finishing second in the first two races, the Centenary men’s swimming team bounced back and was victorious on Saturday as it defeated Incarnate Word, 129-75.

 

The first race Centenary won was the 200 yard freestyle, as Chase Lambert (1:47.64) and his teammates, Rourke Barette and Clayton Carter finished one, two and three. Bryan Myers was the winner in the 50 yard freestyle (22.38) and John Cefalu (2:02.22) was victorious by four seconds in the 200 yard IM.

 

Dustin Myers (48.87), Josh Pena (49.05) and Barette (49.55) all finished amongst the top three in the 100 yard freestyle. Kyle McKee (2:16.64) won the 200 yard breaststroke, while Pena, Cefalu, Adam D’Aquin and Myers were winners of the 400 yard freestyle relay (3:17.12).

 

The men will be back in action at 1 p.m. on Saturday when they host Henderson State.
