Gents Golf in Ninth at Battle on the Bend

LAFAYETTE, La. – After the first day of action on Sunday, the Centenary men’s golf team is in ninth place at the Battle on the Bend after shooting a first round score of 336. The Gents are 52 strokes behind host and first place Louisiana-Lafayette, who shot a 284.


Topping the Centenary leader board is sophomore Mark Weeber (40-41), who is +9 and two strokes in front of teammate and freshman Ryan Sparks (41-42). Weeber is tied for 39th, while Sparks in tied for 47th place.


In a tie for 54th place is freshman Gregory Berthelot (43-43, 86) and sophomore Nick Faitz (39-47, 86). Rounding out the Centenary leader board is freshman Diego Martin-Perez (44-44), who is alone in 57th place, after shooting an 88 in round one.


The Battle on the Bend will conclude on Monday.
