Friday, January 18, 2008

SHREVEPORT – After nearly two months away from competition, the Centenary men’s and women’s swimming team will jump back into the pool on Saturday when it hosts TCU. The Ladies and Gents first swim meet of the 2008 will start at noon in the Fitness Center on Centenary’s campus.

The men’s swimmers in November were ranked as high as No. 21 in the Collegeswimming.com top 25, but have since fallen out. Senior Kyle McKee was ranked the highest ranked individual for Centenary, as he was 70th in the collegeswimming.com poll for the 200 yard Breaststroke.

The women’s team had a pretty successful fall schedule, finishing the year at the Delta State Duel Meet. Sophomore Maggie Vaughan had a pair of first place finishes in the 1,650 and 500 yard Freestyle at the meet to lead the Ladies

After the swim meet against the Horned Frogs, the Ladies and Gents will swim at the Summit League Championships in Oakland on Feb. 21-23.
