Ladies Come up Short at SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.—The Centenary gymnastics team recorded a new season-high score of 192.575 on Sunday against Southeast Missouri State, but it was not enough to earn a victory as the Redbirds tallied a 194.925.


Several Ladies enjoyed individual success against top competition on Sunday. Senior Meredith Smith took second place on the vault with an impressive score of 9.800, while Laura Loy’s 9.825 on the beam took first place.


Alyssa Zawieja also performed well on the beam, finishing in a tie for second with a 9.750. Marisa Schneider ranked in a rare four-way tie for first place on the floor with her 9.825 effort. She was also third in the all-around with a combined score of 38.000.


Rikara Turner and Sandra Blake of SEMO powered their way to first and second place finishes in the all-around with totals of 39.075 and 39.025 respectively.
