PHILADELPHIA, Miss. – The Centenary (311-299, 610) men’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Pizza Hut/AT&T Jackson State University Invitational on Monday. Gents freshman Greg Berthelot (75-66, 141) won the tournament after shooting a 3 under par.

The two-round tournament took place at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club and consisted of 14 teams. The Gents were in seventh place after day one action, but the team surged up to fifth place after shooting under 300 for the first time this year in the final round.

Berthelot took home his first individual title in the college ranks, accomplishing the feat in just his fifth career tournament. The freshman cut nine strokes off of his first round effort to turn in a sizzling 66 on the final day.

Diego Martin (76-76, 152), Mark Weeber (76-81, 157), Nick Faitz (84-80, 164), and Ryan Sparks (88-77, 165) rounded out the rest of the Gents contingent. Complete results and individual places are unavailable at this time.
