Gents Within an Ear Shot of ORU After First Round

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Centenary (324) men’s golf team is in 15th place after round-one of the ULAR/First Tee Collegiate and is 23 strokes behind Oral Roberts, who shot a 301 to garner first place.

 

Centenary freshman Greg Berthelot (79) had a tough morning, as he shot a 41, but bounced back nicely after making the turn and had a 38.  The Baton Rouge, native is currently just seven back from the lead, as David McKendrick of ULM and Lloyd du Perez from Arkansas State hold the top spot.

 

Sophomore Mark Weeber (42-38, 80) was also able to cut strokes off in his afternoon round, as he is tied for 47th. Freshman Ryan Sparks (41-40, 80) is tied for 55th after completing his first 18 holes, while classmate Diego Martin-Perez (41-43, 84) is in a tie for 70th.    

 

Round-two will not be finished by this evening and will be completed on Tuesday, along with the third round.
