Monday, April 6, 2009

SHREVEPORT--The Centenary Men's golf team prepares to make the short trip down I-20 to tee off in the Hal Sutton Invitational Monday and Tuesday. The Gents will be facing North Dakota State, North Dakota, McNeese State and Sam Houston State.

This season the Gents have found success off the clubs of sophomore Greg Bethelot and freshman Denver Green, two of the team's top finishers in nearly every round played. Bethelot has already been named the Summit League male golfer of the week following the Jackson State Pizza Hut/Bell South Invitational at the beginning of March. Green has had strong finishes recently in the Jackson State Pizza Hut/Bell South Invitational and the Troy Invitational. The team will be looking to cut their stroke total in order to come away with a first place finish in Bossier City.

Following the Hal Sutton Invitational, the Gents will return to action April 13th in Jonesboro, Arkansas as they gear up for the Red Wolf Classic, their last event before the Summit League championships which take place on April 27th and 28th.
