Bassett and Shepperd Named All-Conference

ELMHURST, Ill. – The Summit League coaches selected junior third baseman/utility player Allison Shepperd first team all-conference, while catcher and classmate Haley Bassett was named to the second team.

Despite missing 18 games because of various injuries Shepperd still hit six home runs, which was tied for third on the team. The Marshall, Texas, native hit .255, knocked in 17 runs, stole six bases and committed only eight errors at the hot corner.

Bassett came on late in the season, as she was third on the team with a .283 average in 53 games. She led the Ladies with 13 stolen bases, was second in RBIs (20) and threw out 18 runners attempting to steal on her.

Centenary, who is the third seed will start the postseason on Friday at 12:15 p.m. against second seeded North Dakota State. The game can be viewed on www.WIUAthletics.com along with live stats.
