SHREVEPORT – After the coffee is drank, donuts are eaten and Saturday morning’s Shreveport Times is read, the Centenary swim teams will be in action when it hosts Incarnate Word at 10:30 a.m.

The Ladies and Gents are coming off of an impressive opening season win over Delta State last Saturday. Between the two squads, Centenary had 18 first place winners, which also includes eight events where there were first and second place finishers.

For the efforts of the team last weekend, junior Maggie Vaughan received The Summit League Swimmer of the Week award. It was Vaughan’s third conference weekly honor, as she took home the award twice as a freshman.

Incarnate Word, meanwhile, also comes into the meet off of a dominating performance, as the women racked up 919 points. However, the men finished in second place with 789 points, but just 84 points behind Texas-Permian Basin.

After this weekend, the Gents will be back in the pool on Saturday, Oct. 25, against Southern Methodist, while Ladies turn to action on Halloween.
