Ladies Cut Strokes, Finish 10th in Arkansas

Jonesboro, Ark.—In the final round of the Lady Red Wolf Classic held on Tuesday, the Centenary (345-322-314, 981) women’s golf team cut eight strokes off its second round team score to finish in 10th place, just 64 shots behind tournament leader, Drake (306-305-306, 917).


Senior Jessica Garza (86-79-75, 240) led the Ladies tying for 27th, shaving four strokes to finish the tournament just 17 shots behind tournament winner Nicole Forshner (74-72-77, 223) of Central Arkansas (304-309-310, 923).


Also improving for the Ladies was senior Leigh Newton (83-80-79, 242) who finished tied for 33rd, while senior Tracy Williams (90-78-80, 248) finished in 48th place.


Rounding out the scores for the Ladies were junior Jessica Marquart (86-85-80, 251) in 54th place and senior Bethany Cox (90-91-84, 265) who tied for 66th.


The Ladies will take the course again on October 20-21st to compete in the Nicholls State tournament held in Bay St. Louis, Miss.
