Ladies and Gents Swim Well in Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Centenary men’s and women’s swimming teams had a good showing at the Bob Mowerson Meet. The Ladies finished third out of 16, while the Gents placed fourth out of 14 squads.

On the women’s side, Natalie Holcomb placed second in the 400-yard freestyle, which was the top finisher for the Ladies. Not far behind her was Maddie Wyatt, who placed third in the same event.

In the 50-yard butterfly, meanwhile, Jessica Brown and Lauren Kloepfer went fourth and sixth. Lauren Lassiter finished third in the 50-yard backstroke, while Leslie Wyatt and Brittany Wilkens went fourth and fifth in the 50-yard breaststroke. 

On the men’s side, Bryan Myers was the top finisher with a second place showing in the 50-yard freestyle. The Gents also had three other top five swimmers, as Devin Ross placed fifth in the 50-yard butterfly, Aaron Otto was fifth in the 50-yard backstroke, while Josh Pena was fifth in the 50-yard freestyle.  

Both teams will swim again on Friday and Saturday in Tunica, Miss., against Western Illinois, Delta State, Rhodes and Arkansas-Little Rock.
