Softball Starts Preseason with Team Building
Tuesday, January 13, 2009

SHREVEPORT – With the start of softball season just over three weeks away, the Ladies began their preseason workouts with a team building ropes course at the YMCA’s Camp Forbing on Sunday.

The ropes course was broken up into two segments, a low and high course. The low course was for problem solving and the high course was for individual achievements and team trust.

“The course was a lot of fun and it taught us about trusting our teammates,” said junior Haley Bassett. “It also helped us grow as one unit and how to communicate better with each other.”

The Ladies overcame obstacles and many demonstrated outstanding leadership, as they helped teammates who had problems getting through the courses. It also helped the team think through potential problems that could arise during the season.

Centenary will begin its season on Feb. 6 when it hosts Southern Illinois Edwardsville at 9:30 a.m. A selected number of games will be broadcast by Roy Lang on www.GoCentenary.com.
