MONROE, La. – Sophomore Jessica Bock turned in a dominating performance over Central Arkansas on Saturday morning at the Louisiana-Monroe Mardi Gras Tournament. The Ladies were victorious over the Sugar Bears 2-0, as Bock fired a complete game shutout.

Centenary collected just four hits on the afternoon, but it was freshman Katie Matthews’ hit in the sixth that started the two-run rally. Matthews scored the Ladies first run on a wild pitch, while Allison Shepperd drove in her only RBI on a sacrifice fly.

The aforementioned Bock (3-0), tossed gem for her third victory of the season, as she allowed just four hits, walked one and fanned seven. Her counterpart, Kelly Martino went the distance, but allowed the two runs to cross the plate in the loss.

Centenary will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. when it plays Southeast Missouri in the second game of the Mardi Gras Tournament.
