Softball Set to Host BPCC and Louisiana Tech This Weekend

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary softball team will continue its fall play as it hosts Bossier Parish Community College on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and Louisiana Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m.at the Centenary Softball Complex.

The Ladies are coming off a 7-5 win over BPCC, while edging Northwestern State 6-5 last weekend, having strong offensive performances in each game.

In Game 1, the Ladies were led by senior Allison Shepperd with a 3x4 performance, while sophomore Katie Matthews and senior Haley Bassett each had two hits and an RBI. In the second game, juniors Bonnie Matak and Sara Dornelas each went 2x3, while freshman Jessica Sheldon pitched all 7.0 innings for the win.

"We have improved a great deal from the first weekend out. I feel like we are getting better each day," said head coach Mark Montgomery.

"We are working hard at playing with more consistency and look forward to this weekend."

Following this weekend, the Ladies will wrap up their fall season at the Cavaliers' Fall Tournament in Bossier City on Oct. 10.
