ELMHURST, Ill.-Centenary senior goal keeper Kate Donnelly was tabbed as Summit League's Defensive Player of the Week after an impressive two games in goal against league foes, Oakland and IPFW.

Donnelly, a Seabrook, Texas native, received the award after helping the Ladies soccer team to its first league win this season over IPFW and a shutout tie over Oakland to improve to 9-3-1 overall.

Donnelly collected 25 saves on the week, while posting a 1-0-1 record in those two games. Donnelly made 19 saves to help preserve the tie against Oakland and stopped six shots to earn the win over second place IPFW.

On the season, Donnelly has made 41 saves for a .911 save percentage, while allowing just four goals in seven games played.

For the week, the Ladies collected four points to move up two spots in the league standings.

Donnelly becomes the second member of the Ladies soccer team to be honored as an Athlete of the Week selection as freshman Courtney Morris was recognized after the first week of play.

Centenary will honor the Ladies seniors on Friday night as it host Western Illinois at 7:00 pm on Mayo Field.
