ROCHESTER, Mich.-Facing a very competitive Oakland team, the Centenary women's volleyball game drops three straight sets to the Golden Grizzlies on Saturday evening.

The Ladies (4-18, 0-11 Summit) struggled to get their offense going, falling 25-13, 25-15, and 25-17.

In set one, Centenary never was able to gain control as it trailed the entire set. The Golden Grizzlies went on a 4-0 run midway through the set to go extend the deficit, 19-10. Oakland finished off the first set with a six points in the final eight possessions.

Four consecutive errors put the Ladies down 4-0 quickly in set two. Because of the strong offense by Oakland, Centenary was only able to pull within nine near the end of the set.

The Ladies allowed the Golden Grizzlies to tally six points on five kills that put Oakland up 18-11 in the third and final set. Despite rallying to score four straight points (23-17) on kills by freshman Christina Fellows and two by classmate Mackenzie Hubbard, Centenary was down by too many to recover.

As a team, the Ladies tallied just 24 kills to Oakland's 46 led by Hubbard with eight. Sophomore setter Jaclyn Lopez had a team-high 23 assists on the match. Hubbard also led with 10 digs in Centenary's 26-dig effort to Oakland's 35.

The Golden Grizzlies managed to only commit six attack errors on the evening, while the Ladies committed 20.

Centenary will be back in action on Friday at 7:00 pm when it host IUPUI in league play.
