SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's volleyball fell in its season finale, 3-0, to Oral Roberts in Summit League play on Monday evening.

The Ladies (4-26, 0-18 Summit) battled the Golden Eagles, but dropped three sets at 25-19, 25-22, and 25-19.

In set one, Centenary tied the score at 5-5 on an ORU attack error, but wasn't able to take a lead at that point. Despite tallying its best attack percentage of the night at .250, the Ladies still couldn't overcome an 18-kill first set performance by the Golden Eagles.

Set two was the closest of all three sets as freshman Christina Fellows opened with a service ace. The Ladies had the early lead until ORU tied it at 11-11 on a kill. Five consecutive errors by Centenary gave way to an 8-0 run and a 19-11 lead. Centenary rallied in the end, but fell just short at 25-22.

The final set of the match put the Golden Eagles up 6-2. The Ladies pulled within two (17-15) on a kill by sophomore Jennifer Kunze. Though, a 6-3 run ended any hopes of the Ladies late match rally.

Centenary tallied 31 kills led by sophomore Stevie Hurlbirt with nine. Fellows had a team-high 22 assists, while sophomore Brianna Kern, defensively, had 17 digs.

This match wrapped up the Ladies 2009 season.
