Ladies Golf in 14th After One Round

KINDER, La.-The Centenary women's golf team completed Round 1 of the McNeese Spring Invitational on Monday in 14th place with a opening round score of 359.

Centenary sits 51 shots back from leader, ULM with a 308. They are followed by Sam Houston State (314) and Lamar (320) in second and third, respectively.

Individually, the Ladies best round came from freshman Claire Whitis in a tie for 44th with a Round 1 score of 85, 12 strokes back from current leader, Wallis Spears of Stephen F. Austin.

Senior Jessica Marquart's 88 was second-best for the Ladies on the first day for a tie for 58th. Freshmen Kyndal Rose, Rachel Grinnell, and Justine Kemp are all evened up in 76th place with a 93.

The Ladies were scheduled to complete two rounds, but the second 72 holes was halted due to darkness and will be completed early Tuesday prior to the final round.
