PREVIEW: Men's Golf Opens at UNO

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's golf team will open its season at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Mardi Gras Invitational hosted by the University of New Orleans on Monday and Tuesday.

The tournament will be the first for the Gents this Spring season and will be held at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La., which also serves as the host course for the PGA Tour's Zurich Classic.

Competing in the field will be: UNO, UALR, Austin Peay, Campbell, Centenary, Liberty, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Nicholls, NC State, San Diego, Southeastern La., Troy, and Wichita State.

Centenary will play a 72-par course with a distance of 6,931 yards. The Gents will play their first two rounds on Monday beginning at 8:00 am shot-gun start, followed by their final round on Tuesday at 8:00 am.

The Gents last outing was on Oct. 27 where they finished tied for 6th in the HBU Husky Invitational with a two-round score of 602. Sophomore Denver Green tied for ninth, shooting an even-par 72 in the first round then a 3-over for the final round for a combined score of 147.

Following this tournament, Centenary will travel to Louisiana's Squirrel Creek Invitational on March 15-16.
