Gents Play Among Tough Field, In 13th After Two Rounds

CHOUDRANT, La.-After two rounds of the Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic, the Centenary men's golf team (322-316)­ is in 13th place with a team total of 638.

The Gents opened the day with a first-round score of 322, but was able to cut five strokes to finish the day with a 316 in round two. Centenary trails current leader, Ole Miss (582) by 56 shots.

Playing among a competitive field, the Gents are led by junior Greg Berthelot (83-76) and sophomore Denver Green (80-79) with a two-round total of 159 for a tie for 57th place.

Senior Mark Weeber (79-82, 161) is tied for 66th, while juniors Cannon Earp (85-79, 164) and Ryan Sparks (80-84, 164) are tied for 72nd place.

Pacing the field is Cedric Scotto (73-68, 141) from Southeastern Louisiana in first as Ole Miss' Tom Brown (70-73, 143) and Jonathan Randolph (72-72, 144) are in second and third, respectively.

Ole Miss (291-291, 582) paces the team standings, while SE Louisiana (296-292, 588) is in second and host Louisiana Tech (302-298, 600) is in third.

Centenary will conclude play on Tuesday with one round beginning at 8:30 am.
