PREVIEW: Softball Plays Final Home Games; Host LSUA on Thursday

SHREVEPORT-As the Centenary softball team winds down its 2011 season, the Ladies will play its final home games when it hosts LSUA on Thursday in a double-header at 4 pm and 6 pm at the Centenary Softball Complex.

The Ladies are 4-32 on the season and 1-13 at home. Centenary is coming off a three-game series where it dropped all three contests at Summit League foe, Western Illinois.

Senior Bonnie Matak continues to pace the offense with a .321 average, a team-best 25 hits, 14 runs scored and four home runs. Sophomore Jenny King is second-best with a .225 average, followed by sophomore Kelsey Regan and junior Kalyn Harris' .217 clip. Harris leads the team with 15 RBI.

Freshman Lynsi Unruh has a team-low 6.64 ERA and is 2-6 on the year. Senior Lauren Highsmith is 2-24 with an 11.66 ERA and a team-high 29 game starts.

NAIA LSUA enters the mid-week double-header with a 6-35 overall record. Calla Willoughby paces LSUA's offense with a .324 average and 12 RBI. Cortney Kennedy is 4-17 on the year with a 4.44 ERA, a team-low.

Centenary and LSUA will meet for the second time in history on Thursday as the first meeting came back on April 6. The Ladies earned a 8-3 road win.

Centenary will wrap up its 2011 season at North Dakota State on May 6-7 in Fargo, ND.
