Gents Golf Welcomes Four to Upcoming Squad

SHREVEPORT-Centenary College and head men's golf coach Emlyn Aubrey have announced that Andres Forese (Point Pleasant, NJ), John Sidery (Westfield, IN), Hank Strickler (Chambersburg, PA), and Zander Winston (Colleyville, TX) have accepted the institution's offer of admission and will join the Gents golf team during the 2011-12 season.

"I am very excited to have these four players join the Gents squad and I look to have them all start right away. I am also happy that I have such a diverse group of kids from all over the country. I can't wait to get started with them in the fall," said Aubrey.

Andres Forese (Point Pleasant, NJ)
Forese hails from Point Pleasant Boro HS where he was a four-year letterwinner for the Panther golf team. He was a four-time golf conference champion and a three-time Ocean County champion, while winning the individual title his junior season. For his play, Forese was named his team's MVP his junior and senior year. He was also an All-Shore First Team selection and an All-State honoree.

Forese also was a two-time letterwinner in basketball, where he helped his team to a 39-14 record his last two years. He was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year and was a part of a Regional qualifying team that won conference his junior year.

Off the course, Forese is an Honor Roll student and looks to pursue a career in physical therapy. He is the son of Nunzio and Mayra Forese.

John Sidery (Westfield, IN)
Sidery will graduate from Westfield HS after a successful career, lettering three times in golf, twice in wrestling and once in football. Sidery was awarded the team's "Coach's Award" in golf for his play, while also being honored with his high school's Scholar-Athlete Award.

Sidery looks to major in business at Centenary and pursue golf following his college career.

He is the son of Dave and Pamela Sidery.

Hank Strickler (Chambersburg, PA)
Strickler was a four-year letterwinner for Chambersburg Area Senior HS. He helped his Trojans team to two undefeated seasons and was a three-time conference champion.

He plans on majoring in economics at Centenary and looks to continue with a career in golf.
Strickler is the son of Daniel and Deborah Strickler.

Zander Winston (Colleyville, TX)
Winston hails from JJ Pearce HS and was a four-year letterwinner in golf for the Mustangs. He was a part of the 2009 4A Golf State Championship team. For his individual efforts, Winston was an All-District selection during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He served as the team captain his senior year. A tournament low for Winston was a 67.

Winston also earned a letter in hockey and one in baseball during his high school career.

Winston looks to pursue a career in pre-med or pre-law.
He is the son of Andrew and Denise Winston.

Centenary graduated its top three players from the 2010-11 season in Greg Berthelot, Cannon Earp and Ryan Sparks. The Gents will be a NCAA Division III member of The American Southwest Conference, beginning July 1.
